Lower Ground Floor Basement

Excel Waterproofing was selected to design and install a Delta Membrane Waterproofing System to an existing lower ground floor basement in a residential dwelling, located in the prestigious Chelsea area in London.

The first phase of the project required the installation of Delta MS-500 to the perimeter and party walls, with additional fixings allowing for an independent stud partition. Delta MS-500 is an 8mm cavity drain membrane perfectly suited to this project. Next, Delta PT-Lath was installed in preparation for a wet trade finish, such as render. Delta PT-Lath is highperformance polyethylene meshed membrane that allows plasters and renders to bond effectively, achieving a dry and durable finish. The membrane is extruded into a series of studs creating a continuous air gap behind the application.

Delta MS-20 was then installed over the top of the new concrete slab. This product is used where additional drainage capacity is required. Drainage for the cavity drain system was installed using the Delta perimeter drainage channel, with two sump pumps situated to the front and rear light-well at the location.

In addition to the above, Excel was also instructed to install the insulation of 156m2 of 60mm polymer reinforced sand cement screed – an additional service that our team is qualified and happy to provide.

As an approved Delta contractor, our team undergoes frequent training to ensure that our product understanding and installation techniques remain up to date and of
the highest standards. The combination of our product knowledge and design capability enables Excel Waterproofing to advise and deliver the best possible waterproofing solutions, tailored to each project. This project is a great example of high quality products and experienced workmanship resulting in an efficient and effective installation.
